I love Snape. I really do. But at the end of PoA he needs someone to shut him up. Fast. With force, if needs be. There's multiple moments where he can do with a hug, but that was just ... Nope.
Ever since that scene I keep saying "Fellow seems a little unbalanced" whenever someone freaks out. Doesn't usually tend to do anyone any good, but I keep saying it anyway.
And yes, this is exactly how I imagine he must have looked when Dumbledore donned his vulture hat.
