Gordon never met a whole lot of women during his studies as a theoretical physicist.

Ahh I've been in a small Half-Life obsession since I finished up the Half-Life 2 + episodes a couple weeks ago. Gordon and Alyx are (c) Valve.

I remember reading that Gordon and Chell both refrain from speaking fir completely different reasons. Maybe...?

Chell can't talk. It's also believed that Valve wants the player to feel more into the game, and believe dialogue would get in the way of that.

it has been heavily implied that the Play Character in the Half-life games (including expansions, hence why I said Play Character) Do talk, there are moments whereby a NPC asks a question to the player, followed by silence, and a "hm hmm" or "I see" meaning that the Player Character did talk but Valve decided NOT to give them a voice. However Mr. Freeman does rarely talk.

That is incorrect. Valve has assured us that she CAN talk. Besides, if she was incapable of such things, then why do we hear her yell when she gets shot by turrets?

I don't recall this yelling...? Besides, GLaDOS called Chell a mute lunatic at the end of portal 2... And I don't think she has any need to lie when she would was letting Chell leave.

I showed you what Valve said. I doubt GLaDOS has ever heard Chell speak. Both her and Gordon sometimes yell when they get shot. I know this, as I have played both Portal and Half-Life.

In Portal she uses female voice lines from Half-Life 2

in Portal 2, she doesn't make a sound
